- I was talking to an old man some days ago and he was telling me some very nerve wracking tales about the headless coach one of which I am now going to relate. In the olden days they people were very fond of hurling and one night two men went into a wood which was growing at the side of a lonely road to cut an ash tree out of which they were going to make some hurleys.
They started cutting at ten o'clock in the night and when they had their hurleys half cut they heard a gread noise like a heavy car which appeared to be coming nearer every moment. The men were afraid it would drive on top of them and one of them sad "God save us" and the noise stopped. They were very frightened and went home as soon as possible.
