    Then he related his story of a penance that was imposed on him. He was compelled to travel throughout Ireland until he found "Gurteen an cru", but was not allowed to enquire the way or ask the name of the field of any person.
    So he had reason now to rejoice and the farmer and his household were very pleased that they helped to relieve him of his heavy cross.
    When parting with him later in the day he said he would soon return to "Gurteen an cru".
    Rinncru abbey was built by this same priest, who returned shortly afterwards and now the old ruins of this ancient Monastery are all that are left to verify the tale.
