- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)called Brian Boru bridge. This bridge is lifted up to let boats pass. One day some men were painting the bridge. It was lifted unaware to let a boat pass, and five or six of the men fell into the Lee. They were all saved except Jermiah Flynn.
A dwelling house owned by Mr Micheal Reardon Ballygrogan was burned on Sunday in May 1928. A spark from a passing train lit the tatch and caused the fire. Very little damage was done and no lives were lost.
Rathduff Creamery was burned.
The fire in the engine room caused the burned. A verse of poetry says.
