It is built on a high cliff overlooking the river so that in case of war an enemy would have much difficulty in getting near it.
There is a beautiful wood surrounding the castle which is famous for its beauty.
A song was composed about this beautiful scenery known as "Sweet Castle Hyde,, It is said that this song was composed by some beggars who went to the house for help.
