On the eve of St Brigids day the people hand out a piece of a cloth. The next morning they take it in. It is believed that St. Brigid's blessed the cloth during the night. They also believe that it will cure coughs colds etc.
On St Patricks day the people wear shamrock and harps. It is also a custom for a hurling match, to be held in the Townpark on that day.
Shrove is a favourite time for marriages and on Shrove tuesday many people are married Shrove Monday is a favourite time for making matches.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
