Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)I never heard of the name of a dead person mentioned without a prayer. Parents when talking of their children say "John, God bless him". This prayer is dying out tho' now I think people are ashamed. When I was growing up everyone said it. It was always "John is a good boy God bless him" or "he's a very cross child God bless him" or "he's sick lookung today God bless him" or oh! he's fine and healthy God bless him."
"How are you" "Oh! I'm good thank God" is very common even yet here around. "How are the children" "They are good thank God." (meaning they are well in health).
Talking of the weather "Grand Day thank God". "Fine morning" one would say, "Tis so thank God" would be the answer, or "Tis so Glory be to God."
