    who were dying with the fever.
    This townland was part of the Hull estate and was bought out by one of the early land acts. The priest in Goleen held several meetings in Lowertown School which Catholics and Protestants attended. He was chiefly instrumental in having the land bought out. His name was Father O Callaghan.
    There is only one old lady in it who can tell old stories of incidents that occurred in the district. Her name is Miss Daly.
