  1. Long ago around this district the people used to call a hill near Schull "Dickeys Height"
    A man whose name was Mr Dick Roycroft of Kilpatrick was walking down that hill, when suddenly he saw a lot of people standing before him. When he was passing them by, they moved to one side of the road and when he had past them, he looked back immediately, and they had all gone, but they left their black caps behind.
    No one since that night, would care to pass by that place, for it was said afterwards that they were some of the "good people" out of the bogs near by who used appear at that particular place.
