    Sore Throat: A person having a sore throat is supposed to be cured by filling a stocking with salt and putting it in an oven beside the fire to heat. Then when going to bed the person ties the stocking round his or her neck.
    Sty: If a person had a sty in his or her eye he should point nine white thorns towards his eye.
    Sore eyes:There are many wells in Ireland known as Tobar na Súil. People with sore eyes to be cured to be cured by washing their eyes in those wells.
