(continued from previous page)to my grandmother and she threw her hook at him and it fastened in him also. Then he ran to my mother and she threw her hook at him and it struck in him too. He ran all round the field and cut all the corn that day and we tied and stooked it all.
Next morning when I rose 'twas all gone. I listened and I could hear it a threshing behind the moon. I ran in and pulled two big long hairs out of my grandmother's head and I made a ladder of them and climbed to the moon. I found about 100 little men no bigger than my boot having me corn all threshed and in sacks. I threw them all down and then all me sacks and the last one broke the ladder. I didn't know what to do I pulled two hairs out of my whisker and made a ladder but it only went half ways. I leaped down and I went so far that I went to my neck in the earth. All I could do was to cut off my head and send it home to my mother and grandmother.(continues on next page)
