- Mr. J. Ryan The Square Rathdowney told me the that St. Canice had a church in Aghaboe and another in Kilkenny. When he died the people of Aghaboe wanted to bury him (in?) in their town and the Kilkenny people wanted to bury him in their town. The two peoples had a fight and when they were finished they saw to coffins on the field.
One was buried in Arghaboe and the other in Kilkenny.
An old main said that the town that the St (he) was buried in would rise to a city and the other would go to ruins.- Bailitheoir
