   a beautiful young girl in the Castle near midnight. Her black hair floated in the gentle breeze and she as dressed in the garments usually seen in pictures of Irish ladies of the sixteenth century.
   One night a watchman told a story of seeing a whole crowd of the fairy-folk or "good people" come into the front of the castle and dance around where he pretended to be asleep but was really too astonished to move hand or foot.
   It is also said that at Eleven o'clock every night a rush of hundreds of horses' feet comes down to the gates (painted white) a few people in the district have the temerity to pass the "white gates" at this dread hour at night.
   This Castle at Rheban is connected with Kilberry Castle on the opposite side of the Barrow by an underground channel or passage which goes to show that the two Castles were owned by friendly chieftains in times gone by or it might have been a means of escape for the monks who lived in the Church quite close to Kilberry Castle.
