- St. Stephen's Day:-
Up until quite recently it was always the custom in this locality to hold a hunt. The huntsmen and their horses met at some hunt began and appointed place, and as soon as a fox was located the hunt began and practically every youth in the locality joined in the pursuit.
It is still the custom on this day to collect for the "wren". The young people dress up and go from house to house making the collection. They usually bring a melodeon or accordeon with them and whilst paying their calls play a tune for the benefit of the household.
St Patrick's Day:-
In connection with this feast the national customer of wearing the shamrock is(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
