Sheestown is situated about a mile from the city. It is there that a many customs are held. Many people recall the day when therre lived a rich man named Captain Cuffe who earnestly believed in old customs. He passed out of this world leaving his wife who now resides in Kerry after him.
One custom which brought all the people to his grounds was - The avenue of his grounds which was a mile in length was decked out in Japanese lanterns hanging from the trees with every kind of coloured lights. His man-servants and maids were dressed in Irish costumes(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
