The caves are very big and dark They are many long passages in them It is said that long ago the people sought shelter there when Cromwell. was destroying Kilkenny. Many people still visit the caves in Sunday evening and have picnics there.
Cattle and sheep also seek shelter in them on a wet night. Many people hid money there long ago when they would not thrust the banks. When they died their money was still left in the caves. One man was supposed to have hid a sack of Gold ornaments there. When he was dying he told his friend to look for them. He looked but all in vain he could not find the gold.
Many a time people visit the caves and spend hours searching(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
