He got a ticket and went to the ball. The first dance he got was with the King of France's daughter, and he fell in love with her. Soon afterward they got married. The second ball came off and the husband went to the ball. At the ball there was a witch who heard about the gold. When she saw the husband she gave him some stuff which made him very sick. He vomuted up the heart and the witch took it. Soon the man got poor again and went roving through the woods. As he was walking he came upon an apple tree with fine rosy apples. As he was hungry he ate an apple. When he had the apple finished he turned (into)(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
