- Long ago mud walled cabins were plentiful in Ireland.
There was a little cabin on the road to Callan. People lived there by the name of Lonergan. The cabin was thatched and the walls were made of clay. There was no chimney on it only a hole in the roof. The fireplace was placed at the gable - end of the cabin and there was a bed near the fire.
The floor was made of clay also and there was no window only one very small pane of glass stuck in the wall.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
