    Roinn Roinn Postáil
    The Townsland of Ballyreddy is about mid way between Listerlin and New Ross. The land is fertile and overlooks the river Nore. On these lands there once stood a noble mansion owned by a Norman Knight called De Freyne. He was Lord of Ballyreddy and the adjoining lands.
    There is no trace now of the Castle or mansion. There is however a well which marks the site where once stood that noble mansion. It is known locally as Kathleen Ryder's well.
    There is a legend about Ballyreddy Castle and its one time owner.
    The story is as follows.
    One evening when De Freyne of Ballyreddy castle was returning from the chase, he met a very pretty peasant girl named Kathleen Ryder. She was very beautiful and he admired her and fell in love with her. She lived
