  1. In the early eighties a young man in this locality had to get his food in bed because he was too lazy to get get up. He was in bed for twelve months and was often three or four days without food. His people sent for the doctor. The doctor was not able to do anything for him but suggested getting some held to take him out of bed. He was taken out, dressed and left in the yard. About the same time a man called to this house looking for lodging. When he saw the young man lying in the yard he sat down with him. As they were talking the doctor called and offered a pound to the laziest man. The newcomer said "I am the laziest man. Don't you see me on my knees and I am too lazy to stand up."
