- At the foot of Moolum Rock in the townsland of Clonassy there are two houses on the side of the public road leading to Kilmacow and Waterford. These houses are in good repair repair today. Stephen Gaule and his wife lived on the left hand side as you go down and John Wall and his sister on the right. They were both farmers and tailors and had houses tatched with straw. In Stephen Gaules house there were three rooms and in John Walls two. John Wall kept four or five cows and Stephen Gaule kept two or three. They used to make mens suits and people uses to bring them clothes to patch.John Walls wife Brigid used:
To dig her own ridges,
Sow her own seed,
And spin her own flax with her own spinning wheel" as some of her neighbours said in a rhyme.- Bailitheoir
