About 90 years ago there was a night school on Leachann.
When dancing drill, fencing with sticks or batons were taught.
They carried the batons inside their coats to fairs and used them freely in faction fights.
There were 22 houses in Lickawn.
There are only 8 now.
A bread shop at Barry's.
Walshes grocery at Leacan Cross
A Whiskey shop at Dowling at Kinsellas about 200 yards from the cross.
Another at Cashel about 100 yards from the cross. A rank of houses were also there in days gone by.
Aman lived in Leacan long ago his name was Burke the piper.
A tip top timber man was the nickname a broom maker gave himself in the district.
Stephen Connolly a blacksmith lived in Cill an Earbuig about a mile from Leacan.
He made horse shoe nails for their was no(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
