  1. In my district it is a local belief that when the sky becomes darkened there is going to be wet weather. When the sky is clear and blue it is a sign of fine weather.
When the clouds seem to be moving across the sky it is a sign of a storm. If the wind is coming from a south-westerly direction it is a sign of rain. If the sun sets red in the evening it is a sign of good weather for the following day.
If the moon is cloudy it is a sign of frost.
If there is a ring seen around the moon it is a sign of fine weather.
When the sky is full of stars it is a sign of frost.
When the smoke from a chimney goes up straight in the air it is also a sign of frost.
If a swallow is seen flying low it is a sign of rain.
When the hens are seen pecking themselves it is also a sign of rain. When the smoke is blown down the chimney it is a sign of a storm.
