   There was a hedge-school long ago in Ballyteague in a field now owned by Keenan's, Ballyteague. The field is ever since called "The Master's Garden". The teachers names were Mr. Farrell, and Mr. Walsh. There was a Protestant school held in Thornton's in Ballyteague and Miss Bradford of Kilmeague, now Mrs. Young went down every morning to teach the Thorntons. In most of the farmers houses classes were
