    Long ago when Irish boys and girls were getting married there used to be a party at the bridegroom's house all day and at the brides house at night. It was the custom that the boys of the locality used to dress up as "Brideogs" and go to the house and dance and sing and make merry during the night. The "Brideogs" used always have a "Melodian Player" with them. Before the "Brideogs" would leave the house they would wish the Married couple the best of luck.
