    The road I live ion is the main road between the towns of Cootehill and Ballybay. Almost at the edge of the road was a Race Course, about 1 1/2 miles long.
    At the starting point stands a large stone about seven or eight feet high. On the course there is a house called "Connolly's of the Race Course." A few yards from this, where the Course ends is a house still known as McCabes of the Stand House.
    A few yards above our house is a small Forge built recently. Where the Firge now stands was the ruins of a Public house. At this Public House, in olden times a Shooting Match was held every Christmas. Bullets were shot from a Muzzle Loader Whoever hit the
