There is a bush out by itself in a field of John Mac Hughs of Readuff, Laragh P.O. Castleblayney, County Monaghan. Long ago a man named John Keenan lived there. There were heaps of stones round this bush and every evening John used to gather them up round the bottom of the bush. He went out every morning to look at the stones and each morning they were scattered round the tree. No matter how well he built them up the fairies used to knock them down again. The fairy tree still remains there.
