  1. Long ago the people used to make all their own clothes but nowadays they get them made with the tailor. The women went to the town and bought the makings of shirts stockings and dresses and made them. They also spun and weaved their own clothes. There is only one tailor in this district and his name is James Finnegan or James the tailor as the people call him. He lives in a small house in the townland of Dooagh. He used to make clothes long ago but now he does not as he is getting too old. He never kept cloth in the house He just made the suit of clothes when the material would be left in. The people made sheets from flour bags. They knit jumpers, stockings, and gloves at night. The battle stone is an implement that the tailor used long ago.
