    to Heaven.
On New Year's Eve it is customary for the woman of the house to make two small cakes and to open the door and throw one to the east and one to the west saying "Keep out hunger, keep out rogues". This is supposed to bring prosperity to the household during the coming year.
Whatever a person does on New Year's Day they are supposed to be doing the same all the year round.
On Little Christmas Eve the water is supposed to be changed into wine.
