    The Cure of the Shillyshaw.
Many years ago a man named Paddy Leydon who lived in the townland of Moneygold Parish of Ahanlish, Barony of Carbury, Co Sligo had the cure of a disease know as the Shillyshaw.
This disease affected the throat and was a kind of hoarseness.
Whenever a person in this district suffered from this disease he or she went to Paddy Leydon's house.
First of all he put the person sitting on a stool. Then he lifted him or her off the stool by the hair of the head.
He next roasted a potato in the fire and cut it in two equal parts. One half was placed on the sick person's head and he said certain prayers.
The following day the person was completely cured.
