  1. When Parson Grove was in Belville Frank Thomson (great grandfather to storyteller) was living where Charles Killawee now lives in Donaghintrainer. After the war of '98 the yeomen went about killing and shooting. One day Parson Groove was out with the yeomen. They came to Thomsons. Frank was thatching. They ordered him to get down and go on his knees. They were not going to shoot him, but to cut off his head, the sword was drawn, Parson Grove cried out. "Do not kill poor old Thomson". They let him free but one of his ears was cut off. The people were wondered that Parson Grove let him free but it was because they were neighbours one time.
