  1. About ninety years ago there lived a man not far from our house whose name was Thomas Gilheany.

    One night a crowd of men, to be revenged on him because he was not on their side, (broke) went to his house, broke in the door, dragged him out and killed him with knives and grapes.
    No one was ever arrested for the crime but as time went by they were known by the people.
    The foundation of the house is to be seen still in James McTague's land.
