spotting the approach of the enemy. It is said that the priest had to hide once as the enemy was near.
In Kilmore House a magistrate named Mr Doherty lived, and he offered five pound for a priest's head. Some people whose names are unknown, brough a priest's head to Mr Doherty, hoping for the five pound reward. Whatever accounts for his change of attitude, Mr Doherty got his gun and was about to shoot them, when his wife putting her head out the window said "if you want to save your lives go away." They went away without the expected reward, leaving the priests head on the lawn in front of the house.
