  1. The house at the cross was a favourite meeting-place for the men and boys of the locality. One evening when they were coming home after a game of cards, it was very dark and wild.
    All the crowd was gone and there was one young man was left alone. He was not gone 5 minutes when he came back gasping with terror. He had seen a ghost all in white near a big bush with all the chains rattling. One old man offered to go with him and when they came to a big bush they found two white goats lying under the bush from the cold.
