Ar an leathanach seo

  1. People can foretell the weather by many different signs.
When the wind flows from Scardan it is a sure sign of storm. When there is a ring round the moon and when it gets nearer to the moon it is a sign of a storm.
When there is a storm approaching the cattle look for shelter. They lie behind hedges and walls. The birds put their heads under their wings. The swallows touch the ground when they are flying.
When there is going to be rain the flies are in clusters flying about, and the cat sits with her back to the fire and howls. There are different coloured blazes in the fire also.
When the wind blows from Glenfarne it perishes both man and beast.
The sea gets very rough and a grey sullen colour, and roar when it is stormy.
When the wild geese come inland it is a sign of storm. When the sea-gulls come inland it is a sign of rain too.
When the hills look near it is a sign of rain. When the North wind blows it is a sign of snow.
