- This district is in the parish of Glenfarne, manorhamilton, barony of Rosselogher. The townland of Faughary contains eleven families at present. There are fifty one people living in this townland. The family name most common is McDermott. We are told that Faughary got its name from the "Pass of King". Peter Dolan and Michael McDermott is the only old people living in this townland at present. The townland of Faughary contains twelve old ruins. The land is hilly, boggy, and good. The townland mentioned in a song, "The Rallying Irishman"
