It is believed locally that there is a pot of gold hidden in a wall of the castle and that it is closely guarded by a hare and a hound, and anybody who wishes to get the gold must do so while the priest is reading Mass which is the only time when the hare is absent from the castle, and that person must have a gun so that he can shoot the hound and get the gold.
One morning about ten years ago a woman from the village was milking her cows and one of her neighbours passed by on(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
