   A Funny Story In Glashaganny many years ago there lived three families known as the Egans, the O'Learys and the Delaneys, the two latter being enemies of the former family. One night Tom O'Leary and Pat Delany conspired together to do away with John Egan. He John) placed his mother in his bed, and went into his mother's bed. At night they came and shot his mother little suspecting but it was John they had killed. Next day John was going about his business as usual when his enemies saw him and they decided to drown him. They then put him into a sack, and tied a stout rope around them outh of it so as to make sure he would not escape this time. When they were on their way to drown him they happened to rise a hare so leaving the sack on the side of the road went in pursuit of her with their dogs. Just then a man was coming along with a flock of cattle and as he was passing John was singing in the bag. "Why are you singing", he said, "and you confined in the bag".
