On November's Night a cake in which there is a ring is cut and the person who gets the ring is the first to be married.
Three saucers are placed side by side on a table. In one there is a ring, in another there is clay and in another there is dirty water. Each member comes blindfolded to the table and touches one saucer. He who touches the saucer containing the ring will be married during the year, he who touches the dirty water will be a bachelor, or if a lady, an old maid and he who puts his hand in the clay will die during the year.
The November's goose is killed for the dinner on the first of November. The best goose of the flock is killed for this occasion. There is some of the blood sprinkled in the four corners of the house to keep all evil away.
This is done in honour of All Saints and after the dinner the man of the house says a prayer in verse for the souls of all the deceased members(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
