Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)ploughed, harrowed, and made into drills. Then the manure is spread in the drills. The potatoes are spread over the manure about a foot apart. The drills are then closed with a plough or a four-prong fork. Wooden ploughs were used long ago but not now. While the potatoes are growing they have to be scuffled, wed, moulded and sprayed. They are dug in October . The big potatoes are picked first and put in a pit for eating. Then the middle size are put in a pit for seed. The small black ones are put in a pit for pigs. There are many kinds of potatoes in this locality Champions, Beautes, Arron Banners, Arron Chiefs, Epicure, Irish Queens, British Queens, Up-to-date, Kerr's Pink is the best potatoe for eating.
