the same place and saw the same men. He heard one of them saying: "This night twelve months Carolan stole the girl from us." The second said "she never spoke a word to him since." The third man said "if he took out the pin that is in the back of her head she would have plenty to say."
When he came home he took the pin out of her head. She had plenty of talk after that.
At that time the people used to go to the towns selling stockings and jumpers. The girl was a good knitter and she knitted a jumper for Carolan.
One day as he was selling some stock he met a man. The man asked him who knitted his jumper. He said it was a girl he found in a coffin and three men carrying her. The man said it was his daughter, that she was taken from him on the first of November. Carolan brought him to his house to see if she was his daughter and she was. Her dather gave her a big fortune. They lived happily together afterwards.
