   I'm a waif upon the world's waves;
   no home to call my own,
   the friends from whom I'm parted lie low in Innishowen,

   When I settled in Stranorlar here I came in touch with the derelicts of every part
   I never saw so much of maimed and lame and off their heads, I'll never forget my as I lay that night in bed.
