- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)morning. Now that is all done away with and marriages take place in the morning as early as six or seven o’clock with nuptial mass.
The dress worn long ago by the bride was s a hat with feathers and a veil, a long dress and lots of lace. The groom wore an ordinary suit with a new tie. There were usually three or four horses drawing cars with a fiddler in the back of each car and the moment the wedding party came out from the chapel after their marriage the fiddler played the whole way home. After a breakfast of eggs homemade bread and cake the dancing stared until dinner which consisted of fowl, home cured bacon or ham and some home-grown fruit. There was tea later, then dancing, singing, and storytelling until a late hour.- Bailitheoir
