Long ago wealthy people who had a lot of daughters used to entertain wealthy men who had farms or a bit of property, and very often some of the men married some of thew daughters.
Long ago when a feast was taking place, the people who were not {unfit?} invited used to mask themselves and go in.
They were called the "Strawboys" and they all demanded a dance with the bride. They were always welcome.
