One wild morning when a boat named the Alfredy Snow was going up the river to Waterford Harbour but ran on a sand-bank off Broom Hill. The Dunmore Life Boat went out but could get near her and a Tugboat came down from Waterford but could not reach her as it was too wild. The boat soon sank with all the crew aboard and the cargo was lost. The sea broke her up in a cuple of hours. There is no sign of the boat to-day.
