  1. The Shiagh
Long ago it was customary for the poor people to walk to Waterford for their goods from as far away as Bonmahon and Kilmacthomas. They used start their journey about two o'clock in the morning.
A woman who lived near Bonmahon had a weird experience one night.
She went to bed early because of her intended journey early in the morning.
It was a bright moonlight night. When she woke she thought it was time to start. She had no clock so she did not know the time.
On her way a priest passed her. She asked him what was the time. He said "It is not yet twelve o'clock. I must be in Butlerstown before twelve to say Mass. There is a crowd following me. You will see them but don't take notice of them"
Shortly after a funeral of people passed. One man turned to the woman and grinned at her.
