  1. Long ago there lived a man who was in debt and could not pay it. One night as he was passing a fairy fort he was stopped by one of the fairies. The fairy said that he would give enough money to pay his debts if he would give him the first thing that touched when he got. The man agreed thinking that it would be his dog that would touch him.
    When he reached home his son ran out to meet him, he was horrified when he thought of what the fairy had said, but he did not care he said, because he had got the money from the fairy when he first met him. The man paid the debt with the money he got from the fairy.
    Some years later as he and his son were passing the same fairy fort the same fairy appeared by the man's side. The fairy said that he had come to collect what he owed him. The boy asked his father what the fairy meant and his father told him. The boy said that he was not afraid to go with
