Ar an leathanach seo

  1. About a hundred and fifty years ago there were few roads or bridges like nowadays. In those day there were only narrow little roads leading through the country. There was one going from Ballinglen to Killala and another going from Kilfian to Ballina. At last the English Government granted money to make public roads from town to town. The people were poor in those days and the money they earned in making the roads helped them in eaking out a mere livelihood. It took them along time to make all the roads through Ireland and when they made them they also made bridges across rivers Before the bridges were made the people had to cross the river on stepping stones at a convenient ford.
