- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)sacks. These travellers had no food and whatever alms they got they accepted. They usually got flour, tea, sugar or meat and at Easter they always got eggs. They always travelled on foot and singly. The travellers who came most often were Peggy Coyne, John Gahagan, Hugh McGovern and Sean O Noone.
When they remained overnight the people of the village gathered in to hear them. They told of the places they had seen and of the things they had heard. John Gahagan was a noted story teller.
