Food in olden times
Oat-meal bread was the bread most eaten in this place long ago. It was baked on a griddle. Boiling water was used in making the cake. No soda was used in baking the cake but a cross was put on top of it to raise it. The griddle is set on a tripper it was baked lying down or against the griddle standing up
When cakes were made they were rolled over with a bread stick.
There was a wooden bread-board on which to make the cake called a losec
