- Long ago people used to be sixteen or sometimes even twenty-one before they would wear boots.
Children don't go barefoot all the year only during the Summer months. They used long ago but not now-a-days for the people are not able bear the cold now. When washing their feet they used to put a fist of salt in the water because it was thought to be very good for softening the skin.
They would not throw water out for they thought it was unlucky but they threw it into the ash-pit. Clogs are not made locally but they were repaired in Ballindine before now. There was no leather made locally at any time.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
